Hello Mandala family!
This is our first blog post, so I’ll make a short introduction to who I am, what will you find here and how frequent we’ll post 🙂
On me… I started practicing yoga the year I moved to Dublin for a tech company. I was lucky that it was the year Init – the mothership of Mandala– was opened, and my yoga journey began there. The sense of community and professionalism in teaching were what I needed to slow my pace and learn to balance myself better in a fast moving corporate world. After practicing Bikram, Vinyasa and Power yoga for about 7 years, I realized I want to learn more about different styles, yoga philosophy and go deeper in my practice.
I started with a short course on Yoga Anatomy and Kinesiology, at Init, and there I got hooked on Bodyworks & Forrest Yoga. That course made such an impact on me that I ended up getting an 11 days long 100 hours training from Jambo Truong and Brian Campbell on MyoFascial Bodywork, Muscle-Activation, & Forrest Yoga (I was the only non-teacher participant :-).
About a year later, I finally decided to go deeper and did my 200 hours yoga teacher training (YTT) in 2018 and had the chance to learn more about the theory, philosophy and “behind the scenes” of yoga. Being a yoga nerd, I really enjoyed diving more into yoga philosophy, anatomy and the relationship between yoga and emotions, and since these two major trainings I’ve been reading about these topics regularly and would love to share some of the interesting findings with you 🙂 Hence this blog!
This blog is all yours, we will start with some basics like a brief definition of yoga and explanation of different styles, and in the upcoming weeks we will dive into topics that might interest you, from sound baths to chakras.
I’ll be posting one article per week with lots of additional content like interviews with your favorite yoga teachers 🙂
Stay tuned for a new blog post every Saturday or so!
